Noel and I have now been together for three years after meeting on a camping holiday in North Yorkshire in 2008.
A couple of days after Noel proposed to me (whilst on a walk around a beautiful reservoir near Littleborough) we went into our home town of Huddersfield to shop for an engagement ring. I had never been engaged before nor had chosen anything with a diamond in it, so this was a very special day for lots of reasons.
As soon as we walked into the shop we were put at ease and made to feel very welcome. I enjoyed our hour choosing the ring and discussing their making our wedding ring so very much. Our little boy (then 2 months old) was in the sling and slept through the whole thing). I thought the staff were very attentive, supportive, helpful and friendly as I tried on loads of different rings and gradually narrowed the choice down to 2 rings. Making the final choice was quite difficult but in the end I went for the one that I thought was more unusual and distinctive.
The resizing was done quickly and when I collected the ring it was presented in a beautiful little box and bag.
A month before the wedding I (reluctantly) took the engagement ring back to the jewelers so the wedding band could be made to fit against it. They were much quicker making the ring than I thought they would be. It is really beautiful, I love it and it fits so well against the engagement ring.
Noel and I got married on the most amazing sunny day in Scarborough at the beginning of June 2011. We, along with our guests, had a fantastic day.
I’m so glad that we went to Walkers Jewellers that day in February!
Much love Gill Watkins.xx
